Thermal power generation is a major component of electricity production. It involves using fossil fuels, burning them to release heat energy, heating a working fluid, and then using a thermal prime mover to drive a generator to produce electricity. Due to national conditions in China, coal is the main energy source for thermal power plants. Omron's products are widely used not only in the control of power plant equipment but also in the coal industry.
Thermal Power Plant Application Example - Huaneng Fuzhou Power Plant
In the Huaneng Fuzhou Power Plant Unit 1 DCS renovation project, a total of 13 sets of CS1 programmable controllers, 9 sets of C2000H programmable controllers, 10 industrial PCs (7 for operation stations, 2 for engineering stations, and 1 for the DCS WEB server), and 1 data server were used. The networks maintaining these computer platforms include a 10MB industrial Ethernet (for data communication between CS1 and PC servers), a full-range CONTROLLER LINK network (for data communication between CS1s), a local CONTROLLER LINK network (for data tracking between redundantly configured control stations), a remote CONTROLLER LINK network (for data communication between the IOPRO control subsystem and 27 remote control computers on-site), and an RS232 network (for data communication between CS1 and C2000H).
